this is a good example of microsoft&#039;s &quot;disclose early&quot; method of PR going wrong.
It&#039;s a tech demo built very roughly on top of server 2008 codebase, with a non-integrated or optimized piece of capacitive hardware gaffa-tapped to the back of the screen.
What&#039;s more important, is that the multitouch framework will be built into win7 as a low level software layer, and presumably OEMs will be encouraged to build in hardware. Sidenote: the Win7 UI will be the last thing we see (&lt;6months to release).
Form factors that make sense:
- drawing board (jef Hann - tedtalks)
- B5 tablet (iTablet?, smaller TabletPC)
