I'm just trying to avoid doing real work :(]]> Been having fun parsing the post title:
Don’t (release early, (release often (all the time)))
or
Don’t (release early, release often) (all the time)
or
(Don’t (release early), (release often (all the time))
or is it:
(Don’t release early), (release often), (all the time)

Actually the last one doesn’t make any sense. I’m just trying to avoid doing real work :(

The problem as you rightly say is that the software industry is geared up for quick turn around. Version 1 of any software product usually isn’t worth the packaging it comes in. The developers actually use paying customers as bug testers and reporters. As you say, fine for opensource where there’s something in it for the community, but why the hell I should help LazySoftwareInc fix their product that I paid for, so that Version 2, for which they will tsill charge me – is beyond me!

“Work your ass off to release a quality product quickly, release often…” :)
